Prague 1848 →1918
The book was published along with the eponymous exhibition. Its two hundred pages and over two hundred pictures present the cardinal moments in Prague during 1848–1918: the Pentecostal Uprising which erupted in June 1848 and which caused street fights at barricades, the complex life of Prague citizens during the Great War, and the moments in the streets of Prague on the threshold of the independent state. It further covers the development of the metropolis beginning in the 1870s – new suburbs, significant structures, the expansion of public transport, and the General Land Centennial Exhibition in 1891. The authors introduced each chapter with explanatory texts enabling the reader to get an idea about the events in Prague during 1848–1918.
