House at the Golden Ring
The House at the Golden Ring, which is today part of the block of buildings of Ungelt (Tyn Courtyard), ranks among the significant buildings of Prague’s Old Town. The earliest written record about the house dates from 1402. Renovated during the Late Renaissance period, specifically in the first third of the 17th century, it contains two originally separate Gothic houses. The first one dates from the Early Gothic Era, while the other one was most likely erected in the second third of the 13th century. In the 19th century, the house was rebuilt in the Classicist style, including the original Late Renaissance house sign – the relief of a ring. In the last quarter of the 20th century, major renovation took place in several stages. The City of Prague Museum administers the building since 2016.
The publication is a guidebook to the House at the Golden Ring and its history.
